Once a graphic designer, Melanie Abrantes decided to change her passion over to woodworking. Melanie designs anything from vases, bowls, and hanging planters and will soon launch a collection inspired by her Portuguese-Filipino heritage.
She mainly creates her pieces out of wood and cork since they are biodegradable and eco-friendly. It was her Portuguese background that led her to decide to use cork. She wants her pieces to be something that can be passed down from generation to generation instead of creating something fragile.
