It's almost Winter in Nebraska, and while the cold may feel terrible- the snow covered scenery can be a beautiful sight. In Nebraska, the fresh white snow can quickly turn into brown slush. But in the deep forests of Norway, the fresh white can be a powerful surface.
Design firm Vardehaugen approaches a Ski cabin from a modern point of view.
He uses the slopes of the rooftops to create a vision:
"When snow covers the structure the division between architecture and nature becomes blurred, and the roof becomes a man-made slope for ski jumping, toboggan runs and other snow-based activities."
The warmth inside the residential home can be found in the use of poplar veneer to create a contrast in environments. The glossy black facades create a stark contrast between architecture and nature.
